I'm a big fan of Homeroom. They program neat stuff, like lectures about stuff that's not boring. The October 12 event is about Chicago music. I like Chicago music. I have a podcast dedicated to Chicago music. I think you should come to the event about Chicago music. It's going to be hosted by Rob Sevier of the Numero Group (Dear Reader, If you are rich and love me, please buy me everything the Numero Group has released.) and Steve Krakow aka Plastic Crimewave. Steve does the Secret HIstory of Chicago Music cartoon/history lesson you can find most weeks in The Reader.
All the details for the event can be found here on Homeroom's site.
If you want to listen to a Homeroom event that became an episode of this here podcast, click here. It's about the Insane Clown Posse. Really.
Oh yea, The AV Club seems to love Homeroom too. Here's a little piece they wrote about the October 12 event.
