11. “Admission” (2013)
January 24, 2014

A very misleading ad campaign nearly kept me from watching this film. It's a well-executed, smarter-than-average, enjoyable movie that's not really a rom-com. It's not. The poster makes it look like it is, but it's not. Really. There is romance and comedy but it's not just about Fey and Rudd hooking up.

It's on HBO Go. It's worth a watch.

5. Meghan McCain and Michael Ian Black “America, You Sexy Bitch: A Love Letter to Freedom”

I started this audiobook when I was washing dishes. I finished it because I was confused. What exactly is the point of this book? I listened to it because I'm a Black fan. I imaging people pick it up because they're a fan of McCain or Black. I imagine a lot of people put it down because it's not a McCain or Black book, it's a true collaboration. Sometimes it's very good, sometimes it's very confusing.

The three-out-of-five star Amazon rating is accurate. I would watch a late night show hosted by these two. I would not read another book written by these two.

10. “That Guy… Who Was in That Thing” (2012)

Only finished it because it became background noise and sound when I was checking emails.

Glad that Matt Malloy has a starring role on "Alpha House."

This clip comes from my second favorite episode of You, Me, Them, Everybody recorded in 2013. It features our new friend Dave Zog, old friend James Fritz and myself. I think Mr. Zog is a genius and it warms my heart that he shared time with us on the show. Please listen. Please let anyone that can animate things that this deserves to be animated.

“Behind The Desk 118: Bad Boy Best Friends”

I knew he was a TV personality, but bad boy! I had no idea! I had to ask my co-workers what made this more than competent, adult, male a bad boy. They told me about his drug past. His past. His 20+ year ago past. The stuff that he did before he was the host of multiple, successful television programs, author of best sellers and husband and father. Doing some blow when he was in his 20s made Anthony Bourdain a bad boy forever. I had no idea!
